Who is Yang Rong?
Rong is the founding Chairman of China Brilliance Automotive, and has graced top magazines such as Forbes (China’s 100 Richest Business People List), Financial Times, and Reuters magazine.
However his rule did not end there, as this Chinese automobile Tycoon fled the country to the United States after being accused of economic crimes. However, that did not stop him from planning 3 billion dollar US plants to make 3 million clean technology vehicles per year by 2017.
Lang states that he is “good at two things: one is using investments to make cars, and the other is using cars to make money.” Lang has moved on from his Brilliance days to a firm called Far East Golden Resources Group, their primary focus in 2009 was the development of a 1.5 litre hybrid engine that could deliver 50 miles per gallon fuel performance.
It is this kind of ingenuity that we need to watch in the automotive industry today as the US and other governments are setting tougher fuel economy and emissions standards.
